This project came up on a listserv I read.

"A colleague just pointed out this exhibit from SF public library. The art
is created from vandalised books with gay, lesbian, transgendersed, and
HIV/AIDS subject matter. There is some interesting stuff, and I thought
given our current conversations about censorship people might be interested
in this exhibit."

I found it to be quite good.
