For those not familiar with the controversy, this was stirred up by a blogger's response to the new Mary Jane statue Marvel just put out. Lots of boob, butt, bent over doing laundry, wearing a pearl necklace. And kinda gross.
comic weekend

I'm rather excited, for this weekend I will be attending my first comic book convention. Emerald City ComiCon is the pride and joy of my fella. I'll be volunteering all weekend to feel helpful, and to stay out his way ;) I'm looking forward to maybe meet some of my favorite writers, depending how shy I'm feeling. Last time I was in a room with Ellen Forney, I totally chickened out. And just what would I have to say to Brian Michael Bendis? Ah well, it should be super fun regardless. Plus,

Mar. 9th, 2007 06:29 amA bit ago my pal nevikmoore posted about North World, a web comic he described as "Slacker fic meets fantasy fic. " I was skeptical, and really don't usually enjoy reading comics online, but I made note of it, and when I finally had some free time read the whole thing. Happily it also has an LJ feed, so I've been able to keep up. Good stuff! And hooray for rss!
