I'm a fan of A Softer World.  Something about this week's is very appealing to me.

I also enjoy 5ives. Here is the one that got me the most giggles lately:

Five groups, apart from “women and children,” who should get to leave a sinking ship first
  1. people who always use turn signals

  2. persons who have never purchased a greeting card

  3. Broken Social Scene

  4. everyone who can and does continue to publicly breakdance

  5. un-ironic wearers of suspenders

I also like bing cherries in summer.  Today I had my first of the season.  They always make me happy, and feel that summer is really here.  My favorite memory of eating them was a super hot steamy night when I was housesitting in Urbana and walked to the grocery store to get out of the heat.  I bought a bag of cherries, and walked home, eating them and spitting the pits in the road.  In some ways it is a lonely memory, but an intensely happy one at the same time.  I liked cherries before that night, but have loved them since.

I woke up a little after 5 this morning.  After having a lot of trouble staying awake and getting up this winter, I am now totally convinced that I am SADly solar powered.

I bought a little cactus a while back.  It grew some nubs.  Today I was very surprised to find a GIANT flower had emerged from one:

I have got it into my head that I need a tea cozy.  Does anyone have a spare they do not use?  If not, at least now I have a new thing to look for at estate sales.  Lately I've been less interested in doing any shopping.  I just don't feel like I need anything.  Which fits in well with my new need for budgeting.

I am thinking about going camping this weekend.  Maybe just down to Dash Point State Park.  Anyone interested in an overnighter?

Yesterday I turned in my notice at work.  I'm all paranoid that I did not understand the benefits lady correctly, but I think I've got it all worked out that I have no gap in coverage and I get to take two weeks off between jobs.

Now I must get the grindstone rolling.  I need to write two reviews before work!

Tonight I am in the mood to blog. So I am doing this, even though [profile] johnaegarddidn't actually tag me, since he didn't actually tag anyone.

Here are the rules: Each person tagged blogs 7 random facts about themselves, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

I too am lazy.  Tag thyselves, readers (I think there about 7 of you who read this regularly) ;)

1.  I like costume jewelry and have very little interest in real "precious" stones.
2.  I love swimming so much that I have been called a fish, and took it as a high complement.
3.  My band still doesn't have a name.  I want it to somehow involve squid and bacon.
4.  I kicked ass on the PSAT.
5.  I enjoy driving far too much.
6.  I like skinny-dipping, but only if I think I won't get caught.
7.  I can't imagine life without peppermint flavored gum.
