A highly recommended course of action.

so, how does one go about courting a librarian? are there certain customs to be observed?

if i was not currently up to my eyeballs in love with a broken gothy philosopher, i'd probably start combing the libraries.

Never use pick up lines involving classification systems, unless you really know what you are talking about. I can't tell you the number of men who have made dewey decimal jokes at me. Boring!

I think the best thing to do is get them talking about books. You must read, or don't bother. Let yourself get geeky and passionate about a book in front of them, and they won't be able to resist the conversation.

But most important...be straightforward with them. They are lovers of information, and generally persons of integrity. Bullshit will not work for long.
