Went and saw Gogol Bordello again last night. I was supposed to go with [livejournal.com profile] carapace_green and [livejournal.com profile] carapace_spouse, but we forgot to get advanced tickets. [livejournal.com profile] carapace_spouse and I stood around for a while looking for tickets, and I scored and got one at face value, and as pre-discussed, abandoned him. Am I a bad friend? An opportunist? Or just a woman who knows what she wants? Inside I found a friend from work, Z., and made new friends with one of his buddies from work and his wife. They made very nice company.

Kultur Shock opened, and having heard great thing about them, I was delighted to finally see what the buzz was about. [livejournal.com profile] carapace_spouse, you are going to like them, I think...and they promised to play another show in town soon, before going on their European tour.

The crowd was especially rowdy, with the sort of mosh pit and crowd surfing I haven't seen in years. We were situated at the back left edge, and could dance sometimes, but just as often as not were fighting elbows, purses, and ponytails. This would have made for a pretty frustrating show if the music hadn't been so wonderful. But both bands were great, and I danced so much, that I pushed the snooze button for 2 hours this morning, and am still very tired. Joy.

I was supposed to meet my abandoned friends afterwards, but the show didn't break up until after 1 (I don't know how G.B. gets the energy to do such amazing encores), and I found my self with only enough energy to get home.

I really wanted to go to that show last night, but my energy was zapped. Gogol Bordello shows are always rowdy.

I noticed their write up and thought it looked interesting.
