Recommend a cell phone company?

So we have had Qwest the last year, and aside from not having as good as coverage as we had expected and getting some shitty roaming charges on vacations, we have generally been satisfied. Rarely lose calls, etc... But now they are changing their network and telling us our phones will no longer be compatible with this new network and we have until the 13th (ok, I've been sitting on this a few weeks) to decide what plan to switch to or find a new company. Due to the amount of minutes I negotiated for our current plan, the equivalent their computer "suggested" cost over twice as much! I find this a little outrageous and am shopping around. Any recommendations? I'm seriously considering ATT at this point.
