stormy weather

Thursday night I decided to cancel band practice, and boy am I glad I did. I nestled down, put my phone on the charger, and filled a couple of hot water bottles and wrapped them in flannel pillow cases. Then, me and the cat went to bed early. I eventually got up and put earplugs in, because the high winds were kinda freaking me out. Woke up in the middle of the night with no power, but still warm enough with cat and hot water bottles.

Yesterday, I had no power all day, not until about 1 am this morning. I got up and assessed damage. Maybe a dozen roof tiles ripped off. Glass recycling flipped over about 6 times, but no broken bottles. Muddy basement, but no actual flooding. But the arch off my trellis at the entrance to my yard had come of...but happily did not wack my car, as the plants on it held it, if not in place, close.

Went to the gym, for yoga, an nice hot shower, and sauna. Filled up on gas, and got 4 bags of ice to put in my fridge and freezer, not knowing how long the power would be out. Then went out for sushi with lara7, and a spot of thrift shopping. Headed home to wait for my fella to get off of work. Bundled up with fingerless gloves, long underwear, etc, and headlamp and read on the couch. Then we headed down to Renton for dinner, but sadly pretty much everything we tried to order they were out of, so our dinner was just ok. Came home and fell quickly asleep under a mountain of blankets, and woke around 1 to the lovely sound of the heat coming on. Hooray!

Drove all the way to work today, to find it wasn't opening and I was aloud to go home. Double hooray!

I think I'm ready for a nap.
