making music makes me happy

After my band took a break for the summer from practice in June, well, we just never got it together again. And with the new job, I felt too busy to worry about it. But boy have I missed it.

signifier and friends, I connected with ![[info]](https://stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif)
leeeah who is also learning how to play. She is learning bass, and jams regularly with a guitar playing friend. I invited them over to play tonight, and it was fun fun fun. I really have missed playing, making music, zoning out to the rhythm, and just interacting with other people at this unspoken level. And I was pleasantly surprised to realize that I am better at the drums than I give myself credit for...it all came right back, though there certainly is lots of work to be done. Hopefully, we will play again soon. I just need to convince everyone to get bigger amps so I don't have to hold back as much.
