I'm having one of the laziest Saturdays ever. [profile] technogreek  is in NYC at BEA and every time we connect on the phone it is crazy loud and sounds like there are 1000 people in the room with him. I'm torn between being deeply jealous of all the fun he is having (and hanging out with bunches of my pals) and being gloriously happy to be at home doing nothing. I've had a few invites to get out of the house, but nothing has compelled me yet. Today I have:

* gazed with amazement upon flowering cactus
* washed some glass bricks
* made waffles for [profile] carapace_green  and [profile] johnaegard
* watched  A Good Woman
*caught up on blog reading
* weeded yard for 5 minutes
* uploaded pictures to print
* drank a glass of water

I'm not the best at doing little, but I'm trying to get better at it.

My horoscope is encouraging:

Cancer (June 21 - Jul 22)

You need time away from the busy life, but today may not be your desired day of relaxation. Even if it's not a workday, you may feel too responsible to kick back and do nothing. The result is that you could speed up when you should be slowing down. Instead of reacting unconsciously, explore strategies to add more balance into your life.

Hey, I see you dialed me today while I was at work.

Yesterday I came home from downtown at around 2pm, and then took a nap on my couch for 2-3 hours. I read a little bit. Walked the dog a little bit. Watched a movie and went to bed.

Seems we both needed a down day. It was the first night I had to myself in 3 weeks where I didn't need to be somewhere. It was nice. I'm already waiting with bated breath for my next full day off which won't be till Friday. Technically I have Tuesday off, but already have appts lined up.

I was wondering what happened with you. That is cool. Down days are nice.
