tree relief

I called Plant Amnesty, and got a number for a tree specialist. He called this morning to tell me that he had driven by, and didn't think I needed to worry about my tree for a few more years. Though the smallest branches have reached the power lines, until the big branches are actually at a level where they can disrupt the wires I don't need to worry. At that point they can make big changes in the pruning, but he really didn't think anything needed to be done this year. Plus, he said, if they cut it down this year, or five years from now it will be about the same price (probably $500)...it will be "chop chop chop and into the shredder" either way.
It is so nice to get reassurance on this.
Also, this weekend my dad came over. He painted the last bit of asbestos on the basement duct work, we wrapped all the ducts up so they will be cozy for winter, I painted the basement door purple with the leftover paint (and may use it on other parts of the house), and dad brought the lawnmower in to be tuned and sharpened for me.
That is four things less to worry about. Soon I will be able to settle down for a long, cozy winter free of house repairs (knock on wood). Once the bathroom is done...
