What is it about taxidermy? People seem to be either revolted or facinated by it.

I've long admired taxidermy animals (I think the Los Angeles natural sciences museum, visited at age 6 set this off), and have at home a baby osterich, an armidillo purse (in poor condition), and one of those fox stoles with head, feet, and tail (and a clip in the mouth so it can bit its own tail to stay on). I read a teen book years ago in which the protagonist finds taxidermy eels in a friends garage, and have since longed for a set of my own.

I just finished listening to the teen book Faultline by Janet Tashjian, which is mostly about trying to be a stand-up comedian and dating abuse, but has a great subplot in which the main character picks up a thrift store donation of 34 taxidermy animals, and hides them in her basement.

And then I came accross this website, poking around LJ. All I can say is WOW.

Yeah...I saw that one last month. I guess this shouldn't surprise me. Heck...if I knew someone who was into it, I would probably want to learn how.
