camera recommendations needed

My camera is pretty much dead (no, I do not consider sticking a paperclip in it a viable option).
Anyhow, if you, are someone close to you has a digital camera they are absolutely in LOVE with, please let me know what it is. I was pretty happy with my last one (Cannon SureShot S330), but I want two improvements: better close up photos (the micro-er the better) and to be able to blow up and print (hopefully up to 11x17) better.
