The government outsourcing thing is another one of those arguments that's shittily framed. It doesn't help that some government offices and gigs really are wasteful and backasswards- remind me to tell you some stories about Metro and city inspectors sometimes. Of course all government offices are not created equal, and the belief that privatizing things "saves money" is pretty stupid in the long run 'cuz private businesses are run for the best profit margins... not necessarily the most effective infrastructure.
Bonus question: why should saving money be more important than making someplace where people are taken care of, a place that lasts? Why the fuck is this capitalist junk viewed as "normal"?!
